About Amber

Amber is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming space where you can speak honestly and be received with empathy and dignity. She will invite you to tell your story, reflect on formative relationships and experiences, and grow in awareness of current thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors. Together, you will set goals related to your challenges and experiment with new skills and ways of thinking to leave you feeling more confident, hopeful, and effective in important roles and relationships.

Amber welcomes clients of all ages. She frequently works with pre-teens, teens, college & graduate students, and young adults, offering support and skills to clients and their families as they cope with anxiety, depression, relational learning, and consistent transition. She utilizes evidenced-based practices, drawing primarily Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Attachment Theory. Amber views counseling from a holistic lens, acknowledging the complex interaction of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors on health and well-being.

Amber is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA). She received a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling - Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in journalism and remained at Carolina for five years to work with undergraduate students.

Outside of work, Amber enjoys going for walks, reading novels, and borrowing other people's dogs.
