Bridget is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work from Florida State University. Bridget has trained in a variety of settings. Some of those include working with those experiencing homelessness and facilitating steps towards rehabilitation, assisting children in the foster care system in emergency shelters and safe homes, walking through unexpected pregnancy with women at pregnancy centers, and learning therapeutic techniques for children experiencing mental health issues at an outpatient center.
Bridget is passionate about creating a therapeutic alliance with her clients and providing a safe, non-judgmental space in order to care for individuals in their most vulnerable setting and genuinely walk through difficulties together. She believes in the power of feeling heard and seen, and is committed to the idea that every person's strength can and will be the catalyst in finding hope and healing. Each client will be met where they are and given the tools necessary in moving forward, beyond therapy. Bridget's counseling approach is centered around cognitive therapy, utilizing strength-based and process-oriented modalities. Bridget specializes in anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss, and stress management. Bridget primarily works with college and graduate students, teens, pre-teens and individual adults.
Bridget lives in Durham with her husband, Connor, and their Australian Shepherd dog, Brady.
