About Casey

Casey is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate, offering adults, adolescents, and couples a safe space to show up authentically in the courageous work of healing and personal growth. Prior to earning her Masters in Counseling from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Casey earned a Masters in Teaching from UNC-Chapel Hill and BA in English Literature from James Madison University. Before pursuing a career in mental health counseling, she worked in marketing, graphic design, and as an ESL teacher in Durham Public Schools.

In your therapeutic work with Casey, you will have the opportunity to share your story and hopes for therapy. You will explore together how your life experiences and relationships have shaped you and consider what thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are presently influencing your life. You will then collaborate to set goals for therapy that will lead to greater alignment with your personal values.

Casey uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in my work including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. She is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses this approach in her couples counseling. She particularly enjoys working with women with ADHD, but also enjoys working with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life and career transitions, issues around motherhood, and couples’ issues.

She lives in Durham, NC with my husband, Wen, and their three very energetic children. She loves the North Carolina mountains, puzzles, and agonizing over paint colors.
