MORGAN PARISH

Morgan is pursuing a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. She received a BS in Birth to Kindergarten Education from East Carolina University. Before pursuing a career in mental health counseling, Morgan was a Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten teacher for Pitt County Public Schools in Greenville, NC.

Morgan believes client’s thrive in an environment that is trustworthy, non-judgemental, and empathetic. Her approach to counseling is centered around the belief that every person has inherent dignity and is worthy of being seen, heard, and cared for. Morgan draws on her background in early childhood education to provide an accepting and developmentally appropriate space for children, tweens and teens to begin working through any big feelings or behaviors they are encountering.

Morgan works with children, adolescents, and adults through a variety of evidence-based approaches. Her integrative approach to counseling draws from theories including Person-Centered Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and Child-Centered Play Therapy, among others. She believes these techniques are best used when they are personalized for the client’s specific, unique needs and integrated together.

Morgan joined Potter Counseling in September 2024 as a clinical intern. She lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband Jonathan and their three children. In her free time, Morgan enjoys reading, baking, and discovering new board games.
